A Missal For Rapid City

The airwaves of July 1969 were dominated by saturation coverage of man’s historic first steps on this moon. As the most popular weekly periodical dedicated to television programming, TV Guide served as a “missalette” – a guidebook – to these broadcasts.

At the time, the United States television landscape was covered by seventy different regional editions of the magazine. From coast to coast the country was covered – all except for one market: Rapid City, South Dakota.

These TV Guide variations transcended political boundaries and created an expression of cultural geography unique to the medium. In this process-oriented video, a missalette is created to eliminate this deficiency in the American media landscape.
